On September 8th 2022 we had the most heartbreaking and shocking news that the world had to take in. Our longest reigning monarch died peacefully at Balomoral at the age of 96.
A few hours before her death was announced we had the news that doctors were concerned with her health and asked close family members to come and see her. According to newspaper sources that only the new king and her only daughter Princess Anne were by her bedside when she died. The other two sons along with Prince William came just after she passed. Harry arrived late just a few minutes before her death was announced at 6:30pm that evening.
It was a slight shock to everyone after being seen welcoming the new prime minister Liz Truss only 3 days before her death. Liz Truss was the first person to speak out on the queens death and during her statement she also officially announced the name that the queens eldest Son will be as king. His name will be King Charles III. Just after the prime ministers statement the new king released a written statement paying tribute to his 'beloved mother' expressing his greatest sadness and sorrow.
People started to leave floral tributes at royal residences including highgrove house which is King Charles's country home in the south west. people left paddingtons because of the sketch she did with him back in June for her platinum jubilee.
On the 9th September we seen all sorts of things. The new king left Balmoral with his wife Camilla Queen Consort for London to get some work done as new king. They arrived at Buckingham Palace to huge crowds chanting God Save The King and applause he got out of the car by the gate and greeted everyone in the first front rows and shook hands and thanked everyone who gave him condolences. After they greeted the crowds, The King and Queen Consort viewed all of the floral tributes at the gates of the Palace the king looked visibly moved as well as Camilla who he comforted and she comforted him. As they entered the gates of Buckingham Palace for the first time as king and queen he appeared to wiped tears from his eyes.
The same day the rest of the family appeared for the first time since the Queens death. Her other 3 children Anne, Andrew and Edward with their partners and children stepped out from Balmoral and inspected the floral tributes outside the gates they all comforted each other with hugs and holding hands. Prince William and Catherine and Harry and his wife Meghan stepped out in Windsor and greeted the crowd and viewed the floral tributes there.
In the same evening the new King addressed the nation in a video message. The King was emotional and sincere, He paid tribute to his 'darling mama' and he vowed to serve us with loyalty, respect and love. The King also proclaimed his son and heir William as the Prince Of Wales and his wife as the Princess Of Wales, he also payed tribute to his young son Harry and his wife Meghan Markle wishing them the best in the future overseas.
Camilla Queen Consort was also a key person in his speech to pay tribute to her. He calls her his darling wife and mentioned her loving support and she will be the loving support in the future. He also said that she will take her role up without any fuss. The speech ended in emotion by mentioning his mother meeting his father who died last year in 2021 and all he said 'thankyou for everything.' The speech ending in these moving words 'May flights of angles sing thee to thy rest'
